Peer Support and Mentoring

For Year 7 students as part of the transition from Primary School, a Peer Support program led by students in Year 11 allows them to find their place in the Secondary School. Following a structured program, the students initially meet weekly during Pastoral Care and ease back in the frequency of their meetings over the duration of the year. Year 11 students undertake a number of training sessions in order to equip them to lead younger students.

Additionally, to assist students in Years 8 to 9 who are facing a variety of welfare challenges, one on one mentoring takes place during Pastoral Care. The students who take the role of mentors are also trained.
