Before and After School Care (OOSH)

Tyndale Before and After School Care – Kids’ Club

Kids’ Club is a before and after school/vacation care service for students in Kindergarten to Year 6 (Primary school) who attend Tyndale Christian School.

We have a dedicated purpose built building on the school grounds with access to all school facilities, including the oval, playgrounds, hall and library. Our experienced team of educators are dedicated to providing a safe and engaging space with tailored experiences that meet the interests and developmental needs of the students who attend.

My Time, Our Place – Framework for school age care

The Kids’ Club program is informed by the framework “My Time, Our Place”, which has been created for school age children in care. It acknowledges the importance of play and leisure in children’s learning and development and that their learning is not limited to a particular time or place. The framework is interpreted through a Christian perspective and transferred into all aspects of our service.

The before and after school care program is play based and encourages students to freely explore the environment at their leisure. We see the students as capable learners and include their ideas, suggestions and thoughts into the daily program. Some examples of activities suggested by the students include cooking, crafts, construction, drama, music, games and active outdoor play experiences.

Attendance

Once enrolled, students can attend Kids’ Club for before and after school care/vacation care regularly or casually as needed. Once booked in permanently for care, any changes to schedules will require two weeks written notice given to the coordinator. For casual attendance, parents are required to either call or email the coordinator to confirm an available space.

Hours of Operation

  • Before School Care: 7:00am-8:20am
  • After School Care: 3:00pm- 6:00pm
  • Vacation Care: 7:00am-6:00pm

Fees

The fee schedule for permanent and casual attendance can be found on the school fee page. Eligible families can reduce these costs by claiming the Federal Government’s Child Care Subsidy (CCS)

Food

Kids’ Club provide students with both breakfast and afternoon tea during term time and vacation care, which is included in the cost of each session. Our menu always includes food that meets the recommendations of the Australian Dietary Guidelines.

We are a Nut Aware service and ask that you do not pack any food for your child that contains nuts. We also have children that attend with food allergies which may cause Anaphylaxis. Please see the list of allergies on the Parent information board and consider these when packing food for your child while using our service.

Vacation Care

Before and After School Care (OOSH) operate 50 weeks per year and offers Vacation care to Tyndale families during the school holidays.

Vacation care programs are designed in collaboration with children, families and educators. They also consider children’s interests and developmental needs. Each program is packed with fun, interesting and engaging experiences that keep children entertained throughout the holidays.

Programs are available from week 7 of each term, and bookings are made directly through the Kids’ Club coordinator.

Before and After School Care Educators

All permanent educators employed at Before and After School Care are qualified to work with school-age children, including training in first aid, asthma, and anaphylaxis. All educators have also completed nationally recognised child protection training.

Enrolment

All enrolment enquiries can be made through the Kids’ Club coordinator. Enrolment forms can be completed at tyndaleoosh.hubworks.com.au

Orientation

It is recommended, where possible, that you bring your child in prior to commencing care at Kids’ Club so they can become familiar with the environment, children and educators. On their first day, a peer will take your child on a tour of the centre, and an educator will inform them of the routine and program delivered at Kids’ Club.
