Tyndale Pre-School

The Pre-School program focus is on independent learning and social skills with a specific emphasis on play-based learning. Pre-school is available to children who have reached 3 years of age.

Tyndale Prep

Prep is a school readiness program designed to provide young children with opportunities to maximise their potential and develop a foundation for future success in learning. Prep caters for all children who turn 4 years of age by 30th April and therefore are eligible to commence Kindergarten in the following year.

Biblically-founded understanding of humanity

Children at Tyndale learn about themselves and the world in the light of a biblically-founded understanding of humanity. While Tyndale understands the importance of the child’s belonging to family, culture, neighbourhood and the wider community, each child belongs primarily to the Creator, God, and has the responsibility and authority to bring glory to Him.

Each child is a unique being, made in God’s image, blessed with personality, imagination and talents, called to respond to God in love and service. There is tremendous, lifelong excitement and challenge in unwrapping the truth of God’s purposes for the world and His people.

Early Years Learning Framework

Tyndale recognises and values the sound educational theory and practice underpinning the Early Years Learning Framework, an Australian Government mandated program for delivering learning experiences for children aged 0-5 years.

Both Pre-School and Prep use the school’s Biblically informed worldview to interpret and implement the Framework, and it has recently been assessed by the NSW Department of Education and received a rating of ‘Meeting the National Quality Standard.’

The programs are developed with a specific emphasis on play-based learning and recognise the importance of communication and language skills, as well as the social and emotional development of the child.

In order to engage children actively in learning, educators identify children’s strengths and interests, choose appropriate teaching strategies and design the learning environment to enable children to explore and make connections between prior experiences and new learning opportunities.

At Tyndale Early Learning Centre, we value the role of families as the children’s first and most influential educators. Children thrive when families and educators work together in partnership to support young children’s learning.

Early Learning Centre hours

Early Learning Centre hours are similar to a long day care environment, operating from 7:00am until 6:00pm. The transition-to-school aspects of the Prep program are conducted during typical school hours (9:00am – 3:00pm).

Attendance

Children can attend any number and combination of days during the week, depending on your preference. Our educators have advised that generally there are more consistent learning outcomes from children who attend at least 2 consecutive days.

Holiday Periods

Tyndale Early Learning Centre operates 50 weeks per year, including during the school holidays when an optional holiday program is offered. This means that you can choose whether your child will attend during the school holiday periods. If your child does not attend holiday periods, you will not be charged for this time.

Uniform

Tyndale Early Learning Centre children wear a school uniform, consisting of a maroon Tyndale polo shirt, navy Tyndale sports shorts, joggers, and a navy Tyndale hat. In winter, navy track pants and a fleecy jacket keep them warm while playing outside.

Fees

The Tyndale Early Learning Centre costs can be found on the School Fees page. Fees rise slightly each year in line with inflation and subsequent years are uploaded to the website once approved (generally by the beginning of Term 4). Eligible families can reduce these costs by claiming the Federal Government’s Child Care Subsidy (CCS).
